I am a Senior Lecturer in Law, a qualified Solicitor (non-practicing) and an accredited Mediator. Within the Law School I have academic responsibility for the Dispute Resolution pathway. I am supportive of experiential learning and clinical legal education and my other responsibilities include the Mediation Clinic and CLOCK, a social justice community outreach project. A recipient of the University Teaching Excellence Award 2016 for Innovation, I have a research informed teaching approach through which I apply my interests in civil justice, alternative dispute resolution and particularly mediation. I also have an interest in legal education and currently hold the position of Learning Resources Reviews Editor for The Law Teacher, the International Journal of Legal Education. I am an experienced peer reviewer of research papers and have presented my work at conference both nationally and internationally. Being widely published in my discipline areas, I am leading co-author and editor of the 4th edition of Brown & Marriott’s ADR Principles and Practice (2018) and leading co-author/editor of the 5th edition of Learning Legal Skills and Reasoning by Sharon Hanson due for publication in 2020.
