"I am Senior Lecturer in Learning Disability. I have been in post since 2000, when I came directly from working as a Registered Nurse for Learning Disability in the private sector. As a result of that employment, one of my principal interests is in the wellbeing of people with profound intellectual and multiple disabilities; I also have an interest in the wellbeing needs of people on the autistic spectrum. I teach learning disability and autism throughout most programmes in health and social care, and also within Continuing Professional Development modules.
My other practice and academic interests include the physical and mental health of people with learning disabilities and/or autism, and the involvement of teachers with one or both conditions within the education of health and social care professionals."
